There are many happy, easy pregnancy stories – but with those, also many realities that often go unspoken.
Fertility struggles, miscarriages, pregnancy complications, the ache of wanting a child when you haven’t met the right partner, or navigating parenthood in a same-sex relationship.
These are real stories. Real challenges. And for 1 in 7 couples in the UK, the fight to become a parent (what many call the fertility battle) is a reality.
It can feel like your body is failing you.
Like grief and frustration are quietly taking over.
And still, the world around you keeps moving, as if nothing’s wrong.
I understand – because I’ve been there.
In my early 20s, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Doctors told me I might struggle to have children. Over the years, I had seven operations just for a chance at becoming a mum.
I was one of the lucky ones.
I was blessed with two beautiful children. But it wasn’t easy – and I know I’m not alone.
And if you’re facing your own fertility journey, I want you to know that you’re not alone either.
Introducing…
I’m incredibly proud to launch a project that means the world to me.
After my own experience with endometriosis, seven surgeries, and the constant worry about whether I’d ever become a mum, I truly understand that the path to motherhood isn’t always straightforward.
Over the years, through my work as a photographer, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many incredible women – women who have faced heartbreak, uncertainty, and overwhelming challenges on their journey to becoming mothers.
But I’ve also seen the pure, indescribable joy when they finally meet their long-awaited baby.
I want to celebrate you—the mums-to-be who’ve fought so hard to get here.
That’s why I’m offering a free maternity photography session each month to a local mum-to-be.
These gifted sessions will also include 3 digital images and take place between 28–36 weeks of pregnancy, at my studio in Pyrford, Surrey.
To be eligible, please apply after your 20-week scan.
One mum will be selected each month from the previous month’s nominations, and notified at the beginning of the following month.
Let’s honour your strength, let’s honour your journey.
