Creating Memories during a Newborn Shoot – An Example Of A Recent Shoot
Trust me, your newborn grows up so quickly. Even when clients come back a couple of weeks after their newborn shoot to collect their order, I’m amazed in such a short period of time, how much their little one has changed. That’s why I love doing newborn shoots. I get to capture their beautiful newborns, for them to look back over the pictures in months or years to come.
Whenever a client books a newborn or baby session, I get them to complete a questionnaire in advance, so I can tailor the session to their needs. I ask them about colours, styling and if there is any particular pictures of mine that they especially like.
So, this recent client wanted to use blue or brown tones during their session. Additionally, she liked the idea of using flowers in some of the images. With all sessions, I start with the baby being wrapped to help settle them and then go from there. I try and encourage parent shots at the end of the session, as even though you may not feel like it, your little one will love seeing these pictures of their parents when they get older. I often do silhouette shots, as this is a way of incorporating the parents if they are slightly apprehensive about being in front of a camera.
Here is an example of some of the images taken during this recent session.
