THE BEST BABY PHOTOGRAPHER IN SURREY? How to find them?

WHAT QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN LOOKING FOR THE BEST BABY PHOTOGRAPHER IN SURREY?

1. WHAT TRAINING DO THEY HAVE? ARE THEY TRAINED IN NEWBORN SAFETY?

The first question you should be thinking about when looking for the best baby photographer in Surrey is the SAFETY ELEMENT.  What training does the photographer have?  Ask to see their details and certificates.  Make sure this includes newborn safety training.

Too many times, I see videos on the internet, where newborn photographers are putting the baby at risk.  Knowing that they are qualified and properly trained is a MUST.

2. WHAT EXPERIENCE DO THEY HAVE?

A photographer may have training but little experience.  When thinking about finding the best baby photographer in Surrey, ask them if they have just started out, or have years of experience?  Ideally you want to hire someone who specialises in newborn photography.

3. WHAT IS THE PHOTOGRAPHER’S STYLE?

With so many newborn photographers to choose from, now is the time to think about the different styles.  Do you want colourful, neutral or white imagery.  Do you want images with props or more of a natural style.  You want to make sure that the photographer you choose suits your style.  Look at their websites and ask for examples.

4. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER HAVE INSURANCE?

Heaven forbid an accident happened during your session, you want to know that your photographer has business and liability insurance.  A professional photographer would always have insurance!

5. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER SANITISE THE STUDIO BETWEEN SESSIONS?

I think with the Covid pandemic, it is vital to make sure that the photographer you choose has a Covid safety policy in place.  You do not want to be booking someone who is doing 2 sessions a day and not allowing anytime for cleaning and sanitising the studio between sessions.

6. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER HAVE A SPECIFIC AGE THEY PREFER TO WORK WITH?

Some photographers prefer babies to be aged under 2 weeks old, so they can capture the curled up poses, but others will happily photograph babies up to 6-8 weeks. I think over the last year with so many lockdowns, many photographers have had to photograph older babies.  What are their thoughts on photographing a premature baby?  Do they have a minimum weight before the baby can be photographed.  Make sure you know these answers.

7. WHAT IS THEIR PRICING? WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?

It is vital before booking a newborn session that you know the cost.  There should never be any hidden costs and surprises after your session.  Make sure you know whether your photographer charges a session fee or deposit and what product offerings they have.  Are they a full service photographer who offers wall art, albums etc or do they just offer digital files?
