So you are thinking about a maternity photography session.

With lots of photographers in Surrey, offering a range of styles, pricing and products, you are spoilt for choice.  So many questions to think about and lots to consider.

How do you make the right choice?

It’s a once in a lifetime experience.  You only have 9 months to capture this special moment in your journey to motherhood.  To celebrate you and you’re bump.

If you are going to invest in a photographer, surely you want the best?

This post will show you just what happens in a maternity session and all the things you want to know.

WHERE IT ALL BEGINS (a.k.a. the studio)

I suggest to my maternity clients that the ideal time to have a shoot is between 28-36 weeks.   You want to make sure your bump is visible, but not leave it too late where you are beginning to feel heavy and tired.

As a specialised maternity photographer, my studio is built with mums (and families) in mind: I want to create a warm and relaxing environment for your session. I appreciate for many, you may feel nervous being in front of a camera, but, i promise I will make the session as relaxed and fun as possible.

I have a wide range of outfits/dresses available for my clients to use, and styling is discussed in advance, so everything is ready on your arrival at the shoot. Please check out the link, for further examples of some of the options available to wear. My sessions are varied and we do several outfit changes throughout.  Many of my outfits are created and designed by me, so that you have something unique.

Hot and cold drinks are available, and the studio contains a bathroom.… everything has been laid out to give you a stress-free, enjoyable once-in-a-lifetime experience.

A VARIETY OF LOOKS/IMAGES: LET’S TALK POSES & STYLING!

If you have seen my website or social media accounts, you will see a range off looks.

I aim to create a variety of images within your gallery, so, even before the session begins, we would discuss styling, colours, etc, so I can tailor the session to your requirements.

Within a session we do a number of outfit changes and do a variety of different poses to create a variety of images. I use dresses, wraps and materials to create stunning shots and my clients get the choice of all my maternity wardrobe.  Many of my outfits are unique as I often create them myself.  Some clients choose to do semi nude shots – its your decision.  The session is for you.   Bespoke to you.

I will make you feel relaxed, comfortable and at ease in front of the camera, as for many, it maybe the first time you  have been in front of a camera.
