I have been so busy lately, that I haven’t had the chance to blog about the gorgeous newborns I have had in the studio recently.
I recently had a little boy come to the studio who was a true delight to photograph. He was very alert for his age, so we started the session with some awake shots before he finally fell asleep at the end, in time for us to photograph him in some of the props his parents had chosen from a selection in the studio.
Parents are always worried about what happens if their newborn doesn’t sleep during the session, however, awake shots are some of my favourites! During a session, we always work around the newborn and if they do happen to be awake, we will still get some beautiful images.
WHEN TO BOOK YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
The ideal time to capture your precious newborn is within the first 14 days after birth. During this period, babies are naturally more settled, allowing us to create those beautiful poses that parents adore.
how to book your newborn session
When you are ready to book we will then make a tentative booking based on your estimated due date, then confirm the final date of the shoot when baby has arrived. To secure a session, a £75 session fee needs to be paid. This is because baby’s never arrive on time, so rather than finalise a date in advance, let’s wait till your little one arrives!
The session usually take between 2-3 hours, ensuring plenty of time for feeding, soothing and cuddles if needed. No session is ever rushed, and is always baby led.
Every session includes family and sibling images – these in my opinion are the most treasured images!
