Best places to see Father Christmas in Surrey 2022

I can’t believe we have already approached that time of year again when Christmas is fast approaching and we start to make plans.  With all those babies and children out there, one of the exciting things to do is to visit Father Christmas. But, with so many options off where to go, where are the best places to see Father Christmas in Surrey? Here are my top 5 best places to see Father Christmas in Surrey.  Being a Surrey Photography, it goes without saying, don’t forget to take your camera, as its such a special chance to capture some gorgeous pictures.

1. CHESSINGTON GARDEN CENTRE, Chessington, Surrey. (November 19th -December 24th December)

One of the best places to see Father Christmas in Surrey is at Chessington Garden Centre. This was my all time favourite place to take the kids to see Father Christmas when they were little.  This was taken quite a few years ago as my children are now 16 and 17!

Your journey will start with a short, animated film to get you into the Christmas spirit. From there you’ll start your adventure. Each room features a different theme to take you through a journey of magic and wonder. From here you will then get your very own private visit with Father Christmas. You’ll visit him in his own cosy cabin where he will be checking their name twice on the list with the help of his very own elves.

Once you have visited Father Christmas, you’ll be able to visit his workshop and with the help of one of our magical tickets. Your child will be able to select any present they like! Our elves have been busy making a whole new batch of toys that we just know you will love.

Prices: Children’s tickets range from £18.50 – £20.00

 

2. BOCKETTS FARM, Fetcham, Surrey. (24th November-24th December)

Fetcham Surrey is a lovely place to take your children to see Father Christmas as it offers a magical setting.  However, you cannot just go and see Father Christmas without paying entry to the farm.  So, I would advise if you decide to take them to see Santa here, that you make the most of it and spend the day there.  Don’t worry if the weather isn’t that great, as often the case in November/December, as they have a large indoor play area!

The experience begins as children hop on board the Santa Express trailer. Our elves then take you on a short journey to their traditional workshop. Next, you’ll be invited to meet Father Christmas in his magical grotto. Each child will receive a special golden coin to spend in his amazing toy shop, selecting the gift of their choice to take home! Before you leave you may like to purchase a professional photo or souvenir.

Your Booking

Tickets MUST be booked online in advance. When you book, you are selecting a time to visit Father Christmas. Each visit departs promptly at your booked time and the experience lasts for up to 40 minutes. The ticket price for children includes farm entry and a visit to Father Christmas plus a gift. Adults are only required to book farm entry tickets and accompany their children to meet Father Christmas without an additional cost. There is a limit of 2 adults per family group to accompany children through the experience.

The good thing about seeing Santa at Bocketts farm is the fun doesn’t just end after your Santa visit, as there are so many other activities to get involved in whilst spending a day there.

3. SANTAS SITTING ROOM, Leatherhead Institute, Surrey (Wednesday 18th to Monday 24th December )

Santa’s Sitting Room is the cheapest of all my suggestions as 2 adults go free per child booking.  It is a unique grotto/theatrical experience recommended for children aged 9 months to 14 years. Purposely orientated for children to embrace the true and magical atmosphere of Christmas past, spending quality time with Santa.

A beautiful antique set, charmingly studded with twinkling fairy lights adorns the parlour where the children will meet Santa, decorated in a Victorian style,  globes, lanterns, clocks, writing desks and of course Christmas toys and decorations.

Unlike some of my other suggestions, which have a magical tour leading up to when you see Father Christmas, there is not much to look at in the waiting room, but, when you do go in and see him, its stunning and very traditional.

Sign his big red visitors’ book whilst discovering the magic of Christmas.  Every child will receive a boy/girl hand wrapped gift appropriate to their age.

4. CHOBHAM ADVENTURE FARM – Chobham (4th -24th December)

This year the animal barn will be magically transformed into The Reindeer Lodge, where all of Santa’s real reindeer will be staying while they get ready for the big day!

This is all part of your normal entry ticket, so enjoy our softplay and outdoor adventures then head into the Reindeer Lodge to meet our wintery friends including Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and of course Rudolph himself and an extra special surprise…one of Santa’s newest reindeer in training: ‘Baby Flurry’ (beware, he is very cute!)

Our much-loved Elves and The Reindeer Keeper from previous Christmas experiences will be on hand to tell you all about how we look after the reindeer and polish up their flying skills. You’ll also get to make your very own magical reindeer food to take home! The Reindeer Lodge is sure the get your Christmas spirit soaring.

The best thing? This is all part of your normal entrance ticket!

You can choose to meet the big man himself too!! Wander through the snow trail as you make your way to a family one-to-one experience with Father Christmas, before heading into his Toy Workshop to choose a gift to take home*!

Enjoy a spin on the ice with the whole family* and round off your day with a delicious hot chocolate or a hot dog from the Christmas Café afterwards.

So, I hope these suggestions for the best places to see Father Christmas in Surrey have helped.  However, there are many other fantastic venues to visit they have not made my short list.  Christmas is such a magical time and with all spaces limited at each venue, make sure you book to avoid disappointment.
