Baby Shower – Some of the Key Trends for 2019

When I was pregnant with my 2 children (12 and 14), no one really did baby shower parties.  However, they are so popular these days.  Everybody, seems to have a baby shower party or a gender reveal party.   As a newborn photographer, I meet a lot of newborns and I often hear stories of my clients baby shower parties that they had.  So with the rise in popularity, what are the trends for 2019.

1.Balloons

The biggest trend for this year, is balloons – not just a couple, but big balloon arches!! Or even names spelt out of balloons.  At the weekend, celelbrity, Gemma Atkinson had her baby shower party, and balloons played a big part of the decor.  Check out the story with pictures at Hello magazine. Hobbycraft have a good selection of balloons at a reasonable price.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Vintage Chic

Visit those antique stores or even charity shops for props for your vintage theme.  Little old suitcases, pearls, lace, burlap layers are perfect for this theme.  Places like Kempton Antique Market in Sunbury, Surrey is also a good place to browse for such items.

3. Clean and Simple

Think of a crisp, white theme.  Minimalistic . Clean white decor with a touch of greenery.  Cakes are simple with little icing.  Check out this website for how to make this Vanilla naked cake.

4. Sweets Land

Food is a big part of a baby shower party.  From cupcakes, to cake pops, sweets and cakes make for lovely table decorations.  I’ve created a board on my pinterest for anyone planning a baby shower and needs some ideas and inspirations.  Check out the board here
